Testimonials

I was looking to upgrade my existing small launch with something a little more comfortable when I had the opportunity to fish the Port Vila Classic aboard Mama Mia a Caribbean 32 now based in Vanuatu. This boat certainly proved not only a marvelous vessel in any sea conditions but also a fish magnet. Upon returning home I set about contacting Scott with the idea of purchasing a Caribbean. This was duly achieved and the whole experience of dealing with Scott was nothing but professional. If Scott said something it happened, if you want any further information it happens. The boat continues to live up to all expectations as does Scotts continued backup and as such I have no hesitation recommending both the brand and the agent.

We were first time buyers of a launch coming from a history of small boats over a period of 30 odd years. We always desired owning a Caribbean 40 one day, but always hesitant of taking that next step and unsure of the related costs, size, right boat for our needs and all the unknowns. A friend recommended talking with Scott, as he knew everything there was to know when it came to the Caribbean’s. Scott went completely out of his way for us, firstly driving from Auckland to Whangarei to talk us thru the process, the boat specs and how we depicted using the boat. He then meet with us out of normal hours to show us a boat in Whangamata then onto a second in Tauranga (which we ended up purchasing from a long-time client of Scott’s who had just purchased a new 40).

We traded our 740Mclay with Scott and thru the whole process Scott made it simple, he was extremely professional and never once placed any pressure on us. The after sales service was over and above and Scott was always available to talk with for any questions I had for him.

Now the fun has begun with our boating, the Caribbean is easy to handle, handles anything you throw at it!! Fantastic sized boat, we have comfortably been away for days with 5 adults and we have endured some huge seas and always felt safe!! The running coats have been equivalent to our Mclay and we have caught a staggering amount of gamefish in a short period of time and have done quite nicely thank you in several big game comps

Go Caribbean!!

We have owned two Caribbean boats the first one was a 32FB which we owned for eight years. Scott sold me a 35FB in 2017 which I am delighted with.

The Caribbean brand is second to none and they certainly catch fish. Since Scott has been managing the distribution of Caribbean boats in New Zealand the volume and variety of models has visibly increased. The growth is because Scott has a totally professional approach and is of the highest integrity.

We do not hesitate to recommend Scott to anyone who needs honest and reliable broker.

We searched New Zealand for a launch that was ready for long term stays at sea Game fishing, we met many brokers, Scott was chosen as a person we could trust, he cared about our needs and advised us accordingly.

I’m a professional Skipper and have standards, Scott is faultless.

My advice is to listen to what Scott tells you and trust his word, he wants the best for you. His technical knowledge is vast.

When we decided to move to a bigger boat Scott White from Caribbean boats was marketing just what we were after. Once starting to chat with Scott the whole process went seamlessly right from the first phone call to taken possession of the boat. We have been more than happy with the Caribbean 28 with spending hundreds of hours on the water in a boat that punches well above its size. I will be using Scott for the next Caribbean we purchase and also would recommend Scott to anyone wanting a seamless experience.

We have purchased two boats through Scott White, during both these purchases we found Scott to be professional, efficient, helpful and honest.   Our latest purchase being a 2012 Caribbean 40 Mk 2, powered by 2x 500 Cummins QSC engines.

We are thoroughly enjoying our time on the water in our Caribbean and very impressed with how it performs.

Caribbean’s sea capabilities are well known and talked about, however it is not until owning one that we realised just how good the hull really is.  Whether it’s the more comfortable ride in a rough sea or sitting at rest whilst fishing, it is definitely superior to our previous boats.  The match with the Cummins engines is great, making the boat extremely responsive and quick to get up on the plane, it cruises extremely comfortably, at 20 plus knots, even in a rough or choppy sea where we would have reduced speed in our previous boats.

The large cockpit space is excellent for both fishing or relaxing and entertaining.  The interior layout makes the most of its 40 feet with good sized spaces rather than trying to squeeze too much into the space.  It’s well equipped, good size galley has a layout that’s easy to work in.  And at the end of the day it’s great to know, though this not the largest vessel we have owned, it definitely has the largest and most comfortable beds.

We recommend Scott White as a Broker, his straight forward honest approach is refreshing and we would have no hesitation in dealing with him again.

Our recommendation to anyone wondering whether they should purchase a Caribbean, is don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it and we hope you have has much fun in your Caribbean as we are!

Scott brokered the deal on our Mustang M37 launch 2 years ago-a very pleasant and efficient experience. Scott has a wealth of knowledge and an eye for a good deal. The post-sale support for maintenance and the like has been invaluable and I like to think I have a new friend and colleague.

I have been involved with the Caribbean Brand in New Zealand for over fifteen years. Originally it was in a supply capacity where we were involved with the fit out of many Caribbean boats with our range of Marine electronics. I have over the past ten years, owned three Caribbean’s, a 32’ Mamma Mia, a 35’ named Sabotage ( originally Night Hawk ) and recently I purchased a Caribbean 24 FBSF which is named Trident. The last two boats, I have dealt directly with Scott White of Caribbean Boats NZ. I continue to support this brand as I believe the Caribbean Hull is the best Sea Keeping Hull around and the service and back up I get from Scott has been second to none. The latest boat, the 24 was a new boat purchase, and the experience from start to finish was everything I expected it would be. I am now the owner of this sensational Little Sports Fisher and everything involved from progress photos during the build to shipping updates through to the Sea Trials out in the Hauraki Gulf was top quality. Scott is now more than a supplier having become a friend and I cannot speak highly enough of Scott as an honest, knowledgeable individual or that of the Caribbean brand. I am happy to discuss my experiences

I have recently purchased a Caribbean 35 Mark III. This was infact the 17th build of this model of boat by International Marine, Australia and the first of this model to come to New Zealand. I have owned trailer boats of one sort or another since 1994, so it was with some trepidation that I decided to go larger than the 8.5 m boat that I had owned since 2008. I guess I must have asked some pretty basic questions from the start, but I have to say to has been an absolute pleasure in dealing with White Bros / Caribbean NZ. Right from the start they were awesome to deal with. In fact as part of the purchase process, we went to Melbourne and viewed the boat under construction and discussed various options with the management of International Marine. I have to say that this professionalism made the decision to go ahead very easy for me – communications were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. On boat arrival into Tauranga, New Zealand, the guys at White Bros / Caribbean NZ again excelled. You know you are in good hands when Scott White, one of the owners of White Bros / Caribbean NZ rolls up his sleeves and starts washing down the boat and polishing it on the hard stand – very impressive stuff!! We brought the boat into Tauranga to avoid the Auckland Port strikes that were a problem back then. There we planned to fit her out with the electronics package and various other features. This involved the use of various sub-contractors like Advance Trident New Zealand (Simrad, Fusion and Intellian equipment), Hutchison Boat Builders for some Kiwi innovation with a few special features that I wanted, Rutherford Marine Electrical for wiring in a few other features, and Matamata Motor Trimmers for the Strata Clears on the bridge. All of these companies were recommended by White Bros / Caribbean NZ, and all did a fantastic job and on budget. I ended up with no shortage of volunteers to bring the boat to her home berth of Pine Harbour in Auckland. This worked out as a great sea trial and a good way to gain some familiarity with the boat and the electronics. Once in Auckland and again on recommendation of White Bros / Caribbean NZ , I contacted Brin Wilson Boat Builders at Gulf Harbour for installing the Flexiteek flooring. This is a non slip, non fade UV resistant, teak looking product that has proved to be very user friendly. Again these guys were great to deal with – excellent communications and on budget. My overall experience is that White Bros / Caribbean NZ treated the project like it was their own boat….. Nothing was too much trouble and all my questions and requirements were quickly answered and addressed.  Bottom line is they made the whole exercise easy!!! One day I will go larger again – and it will be a Caribbean again !!!

If I was ever to sell my new boat, Scott White would get first shot. I approached Scott about selling my last boat a Riv 33, Scott set about selling the boat and kept in touch with me on a regular basis. Sales for boats were pretty slow being in the middle of the recession but approx 3 months after listing Scott sold the boat. I know Scott worked hard to get the sale and I would have no hesitation in recommending Scott to anyone wishing to move their boat on.

Just a note to thank you for your help and support with negotiations of the purchase of my Caribbean 35. I know that if I had to negotiate privately, then this purchase would not have succeeded. I would also like to thank you for your help with queries that I have had regarding this wonderful launch.

Chris Pickin

We have done several deals through Scott now and he has been excellent to deal with throughout. His knowledge of the industry and the boats is excellent – you can call Scott with any question and he will have the answer. In my view Scott and Paul are the two best brokers out there and we will definitely get them involved when the next deal rolls around. Always a pleasure to deal with these guys.

It is my pleasure to write a testimonial on my experience in purchasing a Caribbean boat and dealing with the White brothers. I took possession of a Caribbean 40 in November 2012 and to date I am delighted with the vessel. The Twin Cummins 500 diesels have performed without fault and the boat handles well in rough conditions (35 knots). My main use for the boat in summer is game fishing and with a few minor modifications such as installing tuna tubes, the boat is ideally suited for the sport with large flybridge and cockpit space. I have tagged a marlin and caught a pinfish yellow fin in our first competition. Pre and after sales service from Scott has been exemplary and nothing is too much trouble, he is always available to provide advice. I am delighted with the choice of a Caribbean 40 and grateful to the Whites for looking after me so well culminating in a very satisfactory boating experience. I would be pleased to speak personally with anyone contemplating the purchase of a Caribbean.

We first met Scott last year, when we were buying Wairua a Gulf Stream 32 launch which he had been advertising. Scott exceeded our expectation with supplying every detail he had available. This included approaching the owner for further paperwork, receipts etc (for prior work carried out on boat, engine and stern leg) for arranging slipping of Wairua and by attending the survey, engine inspection and sea trial. He ensured Wairua was made accessible to us and at no time were we pressured into making a decision. We found him to be absolutely reliable and easy to work with. When we stated a time, it was adhered to and any requests/requirements we felt important were quickly sorted to our satisfaction. Since the sale he has maintained contact which was really appreciate as it is pleasing to complete a sale so amiably. Overall we thoroughly recommend Scott as being totally professional while maintaining a friendly manner. As an experienced “boatie“ we found his advise very helpful and relevant, and we would not hesitate to use his services again, be it selling or purchasing.

Thanks Scott for all your efforts in selling our family’s Boat. Your ability to keep us well informed through the whole process made it very easy. I would like to point out that it is not very often that you come across a sales person with the integrity and honesty to make the RIGHT sale, opposed to a sales at any cost. I would highly recommend Caribbean Boats and Scott White anytime you are selling or buying.

Dean Taylor & The Smith Family

I met Scott White, of Caribbean Boats NZ Ltd in approximately February 2014. When making enquiries regarding the purchase of a Caribbean boat, I studied the literature that was available prior to our meeting and advertised widely by his Company.

I’ve always found Scott to be straight forward during both the selling of his product and also the follow-up support ensuring that the client was the focus.  He was attentive to detail and an active listener who took into account both the personal needs of his client as well as “the dream”!  The decisions that were made collectively by the client and Scott were always followed up promptly and his ability to “problem solve” made the journey a very easy one from my perspective.

I had ample opportunity to follow the progress of the boat building process visiting the factory in Melbourne and able to make suggestions and adaptations to meet the needs for my local area which were different to their environment.

I found his general knowledge regarding his product, other community services, boat building, servicing and electrical needs to be wide and reliable as “Escape too” arrived and then had to be completed to the same high standards he has set for his own Company.

He not only sold me a boat that I am very happy with but also took responsibility to sell my original one.  This was done during a time of down turn in the economy and within a time frame of approximately a year.  He paid the same attentive courtesy to both parties.

His attention to his family did not go un-noticed.  He had the ability to include family members in his business using their individual skills, personalities and team skills which was particularly noted at the Boat Show in Auckland.  His family’s needs socially were also a priority and often took precedence over his own personal “invites” forgoing fishing opportunities to be available to his family outings instead.

His honesty, personal qualities and his time to talk and listen to his clients made him an all-rounded business man and more importantly a “family man” who had his priorities well defined and acted upon in the same manner.

I would have no hesitation in encouraging others to make contact with Scott regarding his business and would be happy to be available for further discussion if required.

I wish him well with his business, which is well deserved.

Kind Regards

Bernard McCracken

We contacted Scott at Caribbean boats NZ after our research on layouts and hull designs and were pretty convinced we knew the layout we were after. We had reservations about a flybridge model, and initially enquirerd about the 420 express.

Scott assisted our research and through the kind sea demonstration allowed on a previous customers boat, it enabled us to understand clearer our requirements, with this boat being similar in layout except having a flybridge. Afterwards, we knew exactly what we wanted, and Scott assisted us through the process with factory modifications, and customization when the boat arrived in NZ every part of the process was enjoyable. The factory made us feel welcome when we attended to visit during construction, and the end result was exactly as we required.

Scott pashionately assisted in the process throughout and his enthusiasm transpired into all the tradesmen involved and I am sure assisted in the quality product we now have. Those same tradesmen and technicians Scott recommended and engaged, have always been available for advice and after sales service.

Any minor blemish was quickly attended too and the after sales and after delivery service has been faultless.

We took possession of a boat in a timeline as promised, exactly to our requirements. You can\’t get much better than that.
